<![CDATA[BHW's Old Website all News Posts]]> http://www.BHW.spruz.net en Mon, 26 Jul 2010 03:23:07 GMTBHW's Old Website all News Postshttp://www.BHW.spruz.net<![CDATA[Official BHW Notice of New Site]]>For the past week-and-a-half, Reegan, Gruntmaster, and I have been working on a new site for the clan.  We had decided that a new site was a good idea, and to exemplify the fact that we continue to change and prosper, even though we have lost Artemis.

Once Spruz updated the system and the forums on our site stopped working, we noticed that the forums on the new site worked fine still.  Because of this, we moved the date that we decided to release the new site to the rest of the clan to a sooner date.  This was in order to prevent members leaving because they have been unable to do anything on the site.

With the date of general release to the rest of the clan having finally arrived, I post an official notice of it and the necessity to move to the new site, change all links referencing to this site so that they go to the new site (at HWF and anywhere else).

Please go there as soon as you are able to.  Until Everyone transitions to the new site, we are allowing the current site to remain active, meaning you can still do whatever you want to do at the current site until everyone has moved to the new one.  Once everyone moves to the new one, the current one will be blocked, so that if we ever need it again, we can easily move back there.

This update will be the last on the current site, unless we decide to reuse the site later on.

I had hoped this day would never come... :(

Hopefully, this wont destroy the clan completely...

Now, the real test begins...  Who can hold out and survive this?  I could be handing out several Senior Awards soon...

First Sigma and now Artemis...  Another question arises, who can pick up the slack?

Where do we head to next?  From our old, rotting site to this new, polished marvel, hard roads were crossed and the clan has persevered, though not without loss.  We lost Sigma with the old site, and now Artemis with the new one...  I am scared to think of what would happen if we changed sites again, or whether the third time really is the charm.

Additionally, the Member of the Month award was given to SideEffect46 for being the most active member.  Congratulations and keep up the good work.

Inactivity is still a major concern, because as far as I can tell, we have three truly active members, with another three that are semi-active.  Aside from these six people who visit no less than once a week, we have a few who come each month, but most appear to have forgotten completely about the clan.

As said again and again, if you see a member who has been away from the site from some time, but has been on XBox Live, please remind him to visit, hopefully that will bring a few people back...

As we march into July, we hope to see more active and eventful members as well as new members.  Hopefully, we can get back on track and stay there.

For nearly a week, we have had more inactivity than ever before in our Clan.  We have started to see an awakening so far, with about 5 members getting active again.  This has sparked a 'New Deal' to be formed for our clan, hopefully to end this Depression once and for all, and to make sure that no depression to ever occur again.

First off, a physical change was given to our site by Artemis, removing much from the Home page, along with adding a few, and moving it to a new page entitled Events.  If you are seeing this update, than you have already realized the existence of this page.  This page will now become a hub for our site with regards to clan activities.

Soon to come are several changes that will form this clan into something new and hopefully more efficient.  Me and Artemis are in the process of discussing things in a temporary page used for a chat room.  By the time you read this, it may no longer exist.  We are using this method with hopes that it will be faster and easier to decide things.

Due to this massive session of inactivity, we fear than many of our previous 'members' are not going to return.  We are going to have another Recruitment Drive to fill our ranks once more.  The core of this population increase will be The Guide.  It is another newly revealed page that you can all see now right next to the Home page.  It is not yet finished and will include many, many additions over time.  If you would like to suggest something, create a forum topic about it and we will discuss it.  If you haven't already, please go and review it all, as it is now a mandatory thing that all members know what is says and follow the rules it states.  You must read and remember the rules stated and the Seven Core Values, which must be followed if at all possible.

If you happen to see any members on Xbox Live, be sure to make sure that they are visiting the site.  Message them and ask them if they want to remain in the clan, and say that if they do than they need to be active on the site as much as possible.  I say this because in the Guide, it specifically states that you must "Remain active as much as possible", according to rule 2, and "If you are going to be out-of-touch, post in the Absences and Returns", in rule 8.  Since they have not posted, they are disobeying the rules.  "Participate in clan activities unless Rule 2 is followed", rule 11, is also being broken, along with the first Core Value, "Loyalty - Bear true faith and allegiance to the Clan".  Since they are being inactive, they show no loyalty, faith, or allegiance with our clan.

Rankings are being modified.  As of now, all members will take the rank of Recruit!  The requirements for the other rankings are being discussed, and likely will be modified to fit this new change.  In order to advance, please follow the requirements.  Increasing in your ranking will have true effects on your clan activity, since you could eventually have access to special areas of the site, such as the newly renamed Officers Discussion forum category, which is now unable to be seen from you all.

Stay tuned, as many more updates will now be coming forward involving more information on our 'New Deal' that will end this inactivity once and for all, hopefully.

 ~ <![CDATA[Tournaments, Territory Control, and Other Stuff]]>
We will be holding a tournament in the near future, and they will become monthly.  The winners of each tournament will take control of a Territory, and each Halo 3 map will be a Territory.  The tournament will only take place on that specific map, and the one who gets control of it will be in charge of developing strategies for that map that will help to increase overall Clan skill.

The Clan is deciding an MMORPG that we will use to keep the clan active and to make sure we all know each other well enough to succeed in clan activities involving competition with other clans.

Halo 3 had a pretty good number of members who showed up, and we got a few games of practice.  I just wish we could really get the whole clan active at once, something i know is both impractical and highly improbable because of the timezone differences between some of our members.

Starcraft, however, was a failure.  When I logged in, no one was present.  If you get on, add me as a friend if you havent already to see if im on.  I played a few games myself and am getting to become quite formidable as the Zerg.

Another meeting is scheduled, but ignore the times, just log in whenever you can and lets get some practice in, hopefully for both games.

]]>Wed, 23 Apr 2008 02:22:33 GMT<![CDATA[Scheduled Meetings and Practices]]>I've decided that these news updates will now happen regularly.

We had scheduled some meetings/practice session for next sunday on both Starcraft, our RTS currently, and Halo 3, our primary FPS.  These times can be found by looking at the calender at the bottom of the right side, please say whether you can or cannot come.

We do not expect very many Starcraft players at the meeting, but if you have it, please make an effort to come. Kmatt and possible severedspirit are the only exceptions, but i doubt they even have the game.

These meetings and practice sessions will be used to determine your competence with each race on starcraft, tactics(micro-management), and over strategies.

Also, the Halo 3 meeting will be used to determine player ranks as well, so try to be there.

If you are unable to come to either of the two, message me here or leave a comment and I will evaluate your skills my self. 
If it is in Halo 3, I find it the easiest to determine a players skills by doing Campaign, since your opponent's skill wont vary.
If in Starcraft, i will simply tell you to build up a base and army to your strategies, and a 1v1 will follow.
